Long Teams vs. Short Team

Each squad consists of 9 FBS teams: 8 Long Teams you want to win each week, and 1 Short Team you want to lose. Both a win (Long) and a loss (Short) score the same way — so picking the right Short team is just as strategic as your Long picks.

The Draft

Unlike a traditional fantasy draft where everyone gathers at the same time, our 9-round snake draft is entirely self-paced. The draft moves on your schedule—when it is your turn, simply log in, make your pick, and the turn automatically passes to the next squad manager. To keep things moving smoothly, we just ask as a courtesy that you make your pick within 24 hours of going on the clock.

For your roster, every squad drafts 8 Long Teams and exactly 1 Short Team. You must declare your pick type (Long or Short) before seeing the available teams for that pick. Drafting a team for one pick type removes it from that pick type's pool for the rest of the league's draft — but the same team remains available for the other pick type.

Pick Order Formula

Your overall pick number in each round is calculated from your draft slot and league size:

Odd Rounds: Overall pick = (Round − 1) × Squads + Draft Slot

Even Rounds: Overall pick = (Round × Squads) − (Draft Slot − 1)

Example (6-squad league, Draft Slot 2): Round 1 → pick 2  |  Round 2 → pick 11  |  Round 3 → pick 14  |  Round 4 → pick 23

How to Draft

  • When the Commissioner starts the draft, the draft room becomes active.
  • Enter the draft room by clicking the Enter Draft Room button on your league card and wait for your turn to make a pick.
  • Refresh your browser often to see the latest draft updates.

Draft Rules

  • You must select Long or Short before seeing available teams for that pick.
  • The Short pick option is hidden once you have already drafted your Short team.
  • You cannot draft on another squad's turn.
  • Drafting a team as Long removes it from the Long pool only; it remains in the Short pool.
  • Drafting a team as Short removes it from the Short pool only; it remains in the Long pool.
